Frequently asked questions

What does it cost to get a MacBook repaired in Denmark?
Typical ranges with us: battery replacement DKK 1,000–2,600, screen replacement DKK 1,900–8,000 (mini-LED at the high end), keyboard from DKK 50 per key (individual key repair) or DKK 1,800–4,500 (full top case), logic board DKK 1,800–4,800, liquid damage DKK 1,500–6,000, data recovery DKK 1,000–8,000. Diagnosis is free, you get a fixed quote before the repair starts, and 2 years' warranty. We're typically 30–70% cheaper than Apple. See current pricing for your specific model at macmo.dk/reparation.
Where can I get my MacBook repaired in Denmark?
With us at MACMO. We're Denmark's specialised MacBook repair workshop (not a general PC shop), we repair every MacBook model from 2012 through to the latest M4, and we cover the whole country via in-store visits or shipping (DKK 50 prepaid label). Drop in or ship from anywhere in Denmark. You get a free diagnosis, a fixed quote before we start, and 2 years' warranty on both parts and labour.
Should I go to Apple or a third-party repair shop?
It depends. Apple is best if your MacBook is still under warranty or has AppleCare+. Outside warranty, Apple is typically 50–100% more expensive than a specialist third party like us at www.macmo.dk, and Apple always swaps entire logic boards or entire top cases — even for small faults. We do component-level repair: replacing the individual faulty chip or port. That's cheaper and faster.
How long does a MacBook repair take?
With us the typical turnaround times are: battery replacement 1–2 hours (same day), screen replacement same day or next day if we have a used screen for your model in stock — otherwise 5–7 days if a new screen has to be ordered from Apple, keyboard replacement 1–2 days, component-level logic board repair 2–5 days depending on complexity, data recovery 3–10 days. If you ship from elsewhere in Denmark, allow 2–4 extra working days for delivery.
Do I lose my Apple warranty if I go to a third party?
Yes, but the warranty has often already expired (Apple's standard warranty is only 1 year; the Danish statutory right of complaint is 2 years; AppleCare+ extends to 3 years). If your MacBook is out of warranty, you have nothing to lose. If it's still under warranty and the fault is a covered defect, go to Apple. We provide our own warranty on every repair we do.
Can I send my MacBook in for repair if I don't live nearby?
Yes. We cover all of Denmark via shipping. Pack the MacBook safely (original box or a padded box), send it via GLS or PostNord, and we ship it back after the repair. Typically takes 2–4 extra working days versus dropping it off in person. Diagnosis is free.
Is my data safe when I send my MacBook in for repair?
Yes. We don't touch your data — repairs happen at the hardware level without ever logging into macOS. We do still recommend a Time Machine or iCloud backup before you send it in, both as a general precaution and in case the hardware fault ends up requiring the SSD to be wiped.
Will I get a quote up front, and what if you can't repair it?
Diagnosis is always free and no-obligation. Before we start you get a fixed quote — no hidden fees. On complex logic board repairs and data recovery, where the outcome can't always be guaranteed up front, we agree the terms before we begin. Every repair comes with 2 years' warranty on both parts and labour.
